Counselling

This aims to help clients understand factors that affect their lives and provide an environment where they can safely explore personal awareness and changes they may want to make.

Counselling can help in many ways; work related stress, loss of identity and coping with grief are just some of the areas that can be explored.

Additional healing throughout the process can reduce anxiety and physical blocks to therapy and helps to further enhance the counselling experience.

What is Counselling?

Counselling offers a place to explore difficulties you may be having with someone who is trained to neither judge you or advise you.

There are many reasons for seeking counselling. You may be feeling upset or distressed for a variety of reasons and have problems working out your thoughts, feelings and relationships with others.

You many feel you are not in control of your life and are unsure of your direction.  Talking can often help to bring a new perspective or understanding to a situation.  This can help you to feel less confused and more confident.

Confidentiality

Whatever you say is confidential in a counselling session.

I work with a supervisor to ensure that I am operating ethically and safely at all times.  Care is taken that clients are not identified.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practice within their ethical framework.

I offer an initial assessment for you to find out about the process and see whether it is something you feel would help you.  This lasts around 30 minutes and is free.
